If you're an Austin outdoor enthusiast, you know how valuable your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side can be for enjoying the beautiful Texas landscapes. Whether you've used your Honda FourTrax for weekend ranch work or your Polaris RZR for thrilling trails, these vehicles hold memories of adventure. However, when it's time to upgrade or move on, consider donating your trusty off-road companion to Ride Forward. Your donation not only helps you declutter but also supports a community of adventurers and those in need.
Many of our donors come from the vibrant Austin area, which is known for its love of outdoor activities. From farmers needing reliable UTVs for ranch operations to families looking to share unforgettable moments on dirt bikes, these vehicles hold significant value for countless individuals. How pickup works
At Ride Forward, we make the pickup process simple and hassle-free for your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side. Our team often utilizes a small flatbed trailer for transporting off-road vehicles, especially those without titles, which is common with off-road-only models. We coordinate directly with you to schedule a pickup at your convenience, whether it's at a farm, ranch, or hunting cabin. If your vehicle is stored in a lot, we'll work to ensure smooth access for loading. Our trained staff understands vehicle identification methods, using either the VIN or engine number to accurately document your donation.
What drives donation value
The donation value for your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side can vary based on several factors. Generally, vehicles with more hours of use than miles, especially 4-stroke ATVs, tend to command higher value. Models like Polaris RZR and Can-Am UTVs have strong resale values in the used market, which can also enhance your donation’s worth. Well-maintained equipment, complete with service records, nets the best return. While factors like dents or fading may reduce the value, fully operational units can receive a premium. Even non-running vehicles can hold parts value, making every donation meaningful.
Documentation you need
- Title (if available)
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for off-road vehicles
- Service records for maintenance history
- Appraisal for classic models (IRS Form 8283 Section B recommended)
- Bill of sale (if title is not available)
Austin specifics
In Texas, off-road vehicles like ATVs and UTVs often have different titling requirements compared to street-legal vehicles. Many of these vehicles do not require a title if they're strictly used off-road. Instead, a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) or bill of sale can suffice for donation purposes. Understanding the local DMV rules is essential, and our team is here to guide you through the process, ensuring a smooth transition of ownership while adhering to Texas regulations.
